I can't ell you how excited I am. I feel like a kid looking forward to Christmas. At the end of week one I weighed in and shed 8 lbs. Now remember, my weeks are a little strange because I actually started the program on a Thursday and weigh in on a Tuesday ( so that I can attend the support meetings). When I weighed in at home on Thursday, I was down 10 lbs. I tried to to adjust my scale to Metabolic's, so it could be off a bit (just like me :-) lol ).
I attended my first support meeting on Tuesday night and it was so helpful. There is a fantastic licensed counselor that is there and she talks with us about the reasons that we eat and all that good stuff. She had to be away the night that I was there, but I had so much fun and received a lot of support from the ladies in the class. My friend Melissa was there and she is going to by my buddy and motivational partner. She is a fantastic lady that works at Marvin United Methodist Church. If you or your kid went to Camp Tyler in the 5th grade from TISD schools, she is married to Mr. George. They are an awesome family.
As promised, I am going to talk about the positive affects that this program is having. I now have more energy than I have had in years. I eat plenty of food. In fact, sometimes I have a difficult time getting it all down, because I am full. I can already tell that there is less weight because my fallen arches hardly ache anymore. The extra weight had always put a lot of pressure on them and they always hurt. My poor knees aren't hurting anymore and stairs aren't so tough on me anymore. This s just from shedding around 10 lbs. Can you imagine how good I will feel after 20 or 30 lbs. more?
My skin already seems to look healthier. It must be from the good food and all the water I am drinking. Oh yeah, let me warn you. Drink all your water prior to 6 or 7 pm. I spent the first week getting up at least once a night to go to the loo. Just stop drinking water at 6 or so and you will be fine. :-)
I put up a picture of myself from about 8 years ago (right before all the weight gain) and that is my motivational picture. I will get it scanned for you to see. In the mean time here is my other good friend that I have known for as long as I have known Pam. Her name is Leah (we call her Princess Leah). You can also ask for her. She is one heck of a great motivator. There is no cheatin' with her watchin' out for you. Just tell 'em that Rodd sent you. Metabolic Research Center of Tyler is located next to the Christian Science reading room, behind the new Burger House on the opposite side of South Broadway from the Rosehill Cemetery. Oh heck, just call them at 903-593-8181. :-)
